WHO WE ARE

Mission and Purpose

OUR MISSION

  • We honor the sacrifice and service of veterans and their families by preserving and promoting the legacy of Army Aviation.
  • We support veterans and patriots by providing engaging volunteer opportunities that extend or create connections to Army Aviation.
  • We encourage careers in aviation through experiential initiatives.
  • We are dedicated to using our volunteer resources and high public visibility to help raise public awareness about chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a progressive condition caused by repetitive concussions.

  1. Provide and operate a flying museum which allows people to observe and experience Army Aviation.
  2. Expand the opportunity geographically/nationally.
  3. Continue our relationships with other military aircraft historical-focused organizations and veteran-focused organizations.
  4. Create additional relationships with peer veteran-focused organizations.

  2. Identify volunteers who have a passion for encouraging young people toward careers in aviation.
  3. Develop connections through which we can provide experiential initiatives.
  4. Seek partners to participate in experiential initiatives.

We are dedicated to using our volunteer resources and high public visibility to help raise public awareness about chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a progressive condition caused by repetitive concussions.

  1. Providing information and raising awareness to individuals participating in our Living History Flight Experience helicopter rides.
  2. Actively engaging in partnering with other organizations dedicated to improving CTE outcomes in the medical and fundraising fields.
  3. Helping reduce stigmas and perceived employment risks associated with accessing treatment by educating key leadership stakeholders about the need to provide medical treatment job risk.

Our Locations

Legacy Chapter Hampton, GA

The Army Aviation Foundation “Legacy Chapter” is located in Hampton, Georgia, next to the Atlanta Motor Speedway at the Henry County Airport (HMP). The Legacy Chapter operates three Bell UH-1H Huey helicopters and three Bell AH-1 Cobra helicopters.

Southwest Chapter  Mesa, Arizona

In early 2015, a member of the Commemorative Air Force, Dave Sale noted that there was no real Vietnam aircraft in the AZ Base located at Falcon Field. He had received many requests to view such aircraft, and contacted AAHF.

Gateway Chapter
St. Louis, MO

Officially established in December of 2016, the Gateway Chapter of the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation and Flying Museum is located in Saint Louis, Missouri at Creve Coeur Airport (1H0).The Gateway Chapter is home to OH58-A+ 71-20541 and UH-1H 68-16104.
